January 4, 2012

Do you think this pastor should be arrested or was punching her justified? (One thing, she didn’t back down.)

Professor, you are posting some good conversational fodder! Speaking from a judicial point of view, they both should be arrested for assault.

Had she not physically violated him, hands down he (pastor) is wrong, however, gender should not regulate and excuse a woman’s right to be physically abusive, regardless of the man’s title.

After watching the video it is obvious that things in this congregation had reached its peak. The woman, though I feel she was wrong for striking the pastor, was reaping what has been sown in this church lack of wisdom love and unforgiveness.

I also believe the pastor was wrong for striking her back because he was the one who could have set the example. The discussion is always going to be, what would you have done in this situation? My reply, you never truly know until you have been tested.

The woman was definitely in the Pastor’s personal space and as we can see truly pushed him to the carnal side.

However, in no situation, should clergy lay hands on a parishoner other than in a spiritual manner.

This situation should continually remind us that clergy are human, in this case, he is a man. Furthermore, we should keep the human nature in the forefront when we ellevate and worship clergy as if they were GOD.

No “man” should ever lay his hands on a woman…he went to punch her with his fist, being a man and a Pastor he was dead wrong. However, she provoked it. He should not be arrested but he should be ran out of town and put on blast.

What I don’t understand is where in the world it is written women have a right to physically attack men and we are suppose to just take it. I see other races making this a practice and I just don’t agree with it.Brother Malcolm said to speak to people in a language they understand. If they only understand slapping me up side my head then that is the language they understand. We can talk an diaglouge all day but don’t touch me because I see that as taking it to another level and you are looking at me like some kind of an animal that needs correction.

What example was he showing those who are watching us –Christians when he punched her. As Christians we are to operate in a God like manner as much as possible. Young people need to know that our pastors can step up and beyond retaliation. I do not condone her actions either. Both of them being older should have exhibit a behavior that young people, their church and community can be proud of. He can argue self defense because she clearly hit him first. An arrest would cause even more division in that church. He should if have not done so already apologize to her the chuch and community for his behavior. She too needs to seek forgiveness. This chuch needs heal from this and the circumstances surrounding the issues that caused this controversity.

As a pastor, he should have acted differently. As a woman of God, she should not have hit him in the first place. Clearly, this esculated from unresolved issues that has been going on in this church (if that’s what you want to call it) for a long time. What is going on with God’s people!?

He should have turned the other cheek. Heh heh.

I want to say that they were the appointed TRUSTEES, who accused him of misappropriateing funds; Him bein the Pastor was already angry and was speaking to them angrily, plus he had just excussed two of them from their positions. Where theres’ Smoke, must be some Fire around. We don’t know what was said that caused her to slap him; but He definitely shouldn’t have punched her in the face. Both of them needs repremanding, and he should step down from their pastorate, because the TRUST FACTOR is truly gone. He has clearly abused the Church if he has bothered their money. Even the Church has rights, concerning the Lords business.

People are crazy, that Pastor had every right to defend himself. Pastor or not. Under no circumstance should a pastor hit a member of the church!? Get real. People are walking into the churches and doing all kinds of evil acts. If anyone followed this story correctly, this lady tried to take over the church but the COURT sided with the pastor!
